It's Memorial Day weekend but a girl wants a hot breakfast and I wasn't in the mood for cooking. Tried every single breakfast place from North Hollywood to Sylmar/ San Fernando. Lines upon lines it was not looking good.
Then my honey remembers Fiddlers. We tried our luck, it was looking good when we came and saw plenty of parking. So we walk in and get seated within a few minutes. There wasn't anyone in front of us which was great cause at that point we were starving. Looking around the restaurant it lacks in modern appeal. A little dated (our seats had rips)but it was surprisingly spacious. There are three rooms and what looks like a banquet style room in the back with a tv etc in case you have a large gathering.
Our waitress was attentive and drink refills were fast. Plenty of options on the menu. French toast, pancakes and variety of omelets, even a Napoles option. I ended up getting the Chile verde omelette with hash browns and a side of fruit. Oh my gosh the omelette was on point. Came with fresh avocado on top and it was seasoned just right. My side of fruit was actually two huge pieces of watermelon and cantaloupe. I was surprised thinking I'd just get the typical small fruit salad in a bowl. My bf got the big breakfast and a side order of shortcakes. The big breakfast came with eggs, hash browns, side of toast, sausage, bacon and ham. It was 11.99 but you better bring your appetite. There was another option of getting a bigger side of pancakes. Thank goodness he didn't because there was nothing "short" about these cakes. I'm certain that our desperate search for breakfast caused us to misjudge our appetites. We both had to take food to go. There was no way we'd finish it all.
All in all it's not a place you go for frills. But they serve very generous plates. It also took a long time to get our food. But I know it was because it was a holiday weekend. Orange juice was just okay, didn't taste fresh squeezed and a little tart. But the breakfast made up for it, not too greasy for what it was and it tasted like an all American breakfast. Spent $42 for the two of us. A little on the pricey side but then again we did over order. I'd come again for sure. They also had some fresh pies I eyed on the way out. I'll have to come back and try another day there was no way I had room after breakfast. -

I've been here many times before and although the place isn't the best, the food is good and the atmosphere is peaceful. I hadn't been there in a few months so we decided to come here for Father's Day for lunch after a long morning out.
Unfortunately, this experience was not a good one at all. When we walked in, there was only 3 other tables with customers so we considered ourselves lucky that it wasn't busy or crowded. The waitress took our drink orders and, what is usually a delicious cup of Horchata, came out tasting like dish soap. She then took our food orders and thus began our extremely long wait time. Our waitress constantly came out to ask what our orders had been and we couldn't understand why she didn't even attempt to write it down instead of coming in and out asking us what each one of us had ordered over and over again.
When the food finally showed up, it was all incorrect. To make matters worse, they forgot portions of food that were included in our meals and one whole meal completely. My brother had to sit there and watch everyone pick at their food while he waited for them to make his order and bring it out.
Once we were all done with our lunch we waited for our waitress to return with our check. She was nowhere to be found. After another long wait, My husband got up and went directly to the front to ask for our check so we can finally leave. Only when my husband had returned to the table, with check in hand, did our waitress show herself.
As we were leaving, we noticed that the place was still empty and not busy so there was no excuse for the bad service we received. -

I come here all the time with my mom and uncle. Just never gave them a review. I'm here alone to study while having lunch. When I get the French dip I do request that they put the bread on the side of the meat so that it doesn't get soggy. I've had the burgers as well. I am a creature of habit so, technically those are the only things I have ate- not due to anything but, my preference and it's always good. They have yummy milkshakes as well. You do need to request a straw or you won't be given one. Always friendly employees and the service is quick.

Location is easy to find, and there's plenty of parking. Decor is meant to look rustic, kind of like a farmhouse. Great food, no complaints. Everything was brought exactly how we ordered! Staff was attentive. Only issue was that the women'srestroom just needs some stall doors fixed, but other than that, it was a great first visit.
